Awake

Awake - Mom, Alice, is shaking my shoulders - telling me it's time to wake: Get up, you'll be late for school!

Awake - Wifey, Ute whispers - it's your turn to, to check on Taonga, my son; it's quarter past two!

Awake - Taonga's calling, his blanket needs fixing, dragging my shell, he says thank you daddy, :)

It's morning, it's a new day; the  shoulder's shoot, the voices whisper, and the calling is done - I must be Awake!

2012: Could be a nice beginning. Thus far, it's struggling to get started in me ...

I left me somewhere in November 2011 still planning how 2012 was going to be different.

Maybe February will be my January and thus this year will only have 11 months, OH! WOW! that means this year is going to be short. Less time to do all I wanted ... but it also means holidays a near. haha.

When Black is night and the light is yellow - fire flyers call the shots. They buzz like organised law enforcement and keep to themselves. There’s nothing beyond the darkness because the world ends where their light fades ... is it narrow mindedness or a wonderful existence???

Blossom Soul. "Lucky Fish"

Had a pretty awesome weekend. Randomly had some hours to burn and didn't have a clue what to do with this extra time. Went for a drive; smsed some friends for some ideas on a hangout joint. SMS - "Hey, do you know where creatives hangout" - Frd1: "Checkout BackStage ..." - Frd2: "I think BackStage ..." – Frd3: “I wouldn’t know” – Frd4: “Nada” ... etc.

BackStage seemed to be the winner. Got to BackStage - a poster on the entrance said: Live Jazz Friday and Live Soul Saturday. Walked up not expecting much - See I had been here before, and they had a German play - so I thought the lingo was a serious obstacle. But wait ... that music, those vibes, the voice ... Wow. I rushed in got a seat, a drink and then began my night into Blossom Soul.

I must say: Blossom is a Namibian singer/song writer and she blew away BackStage this past Saturday. I got inspired by her music to do this piece.

The sound engineer did a brilliant job - it sounded raw, unplugged but tops - like a CD. I managed to catch the first act and also got to see Suzie E do her saxophone vibes. I smsed inviting a few friends - Unfortunately they missed out. I'm the Lucky Fish!

First attempt at a Bemba poem:

Kasuba (Sun) : Said as if calling a person.

Kasuba kandi, waya kwi
(Sun, My Sun, where art thou)

Nafyaya, Nafyaya
(I seek, I search)

Nasakamana, amatontokanyo
(My heart yearns, my soul wanders)

Walubila pachani? Ututubukafye kumwenshi
(Are you hidding in the grass, your only resurrection is in the moon)

lonsye nganamona umutanda
(Every night I see the stars)

tontokanyefye uku bengeshima kobe
(Thoughs of your sights, of your light. Shine!)

Kasuba, Kasuba Sanika
(Sun, My Sun, Shine, Shimmer)

lekka ngufwe uku kaba kobe
(Let my skin feel your warm)

Sketches

Some doodles from my sketch book. Lot's of fun. Please leave a comment.

Cover Design for my sketchbook. Coming long soon
My Queen, the Mosi and Tafel of my heart. Thundering within. Between the dunes and the waterfalls: Beauty so magnificent comparable only to the Mosi-o-tunya and the dunes of the Sossusvlei ... red mist to my gold sun ... My Queen!
